Issued at 10:13 pm EDT on Thursday 9 February 2012. ================================================================================ Please be aware Wind gusts can be 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height. ================================================================================ Weather Situation A weak high pressure ridge lies to the south of Victoria and a low pressure trough is over eastern Victoria. Strong wind warning for Port Phillip Winds: Southeasterly to 30 knots developing Friday afternoon and evening. Seas: Up to 1.5 metres. Strong wind warning for Western Port Winds: Southeasterly to 30 knots developing Friday afternoon and evening. Seas: 1 to 2 metres increasing to 2.5 metres Friday afternoon. Strong wind warning for Gippsland Lakes Winds: Southeasterly and increasing up to 30 knots Friday afternoon and evening . The next warning will be issued by 5:00 am EDT Friday.
