Issued at 8:45 pm WST on Saturday 4 February 2012 Synoptic situation A ridge of high pressure rapidly developing to the south of the state is resulting in strong S'ly winds along the west coast. Strong Wind Warning Coral Bay to Kalbarri S/SE winds 25/33 knots south of Carnarvon, easing to below 25 knots early Sunday morning. Winds increasing to S'ly 20/30 knots during Sunday afternoon and evening. Seas to 2.5m. Swell to 2.5m. Strong Wind Warning Kalbarri to Jurien Bay S/SE winds 25/33 knots, easing below 25 knots early on Sunday morning. Winds increasing to S'ly 20/30 knots north of Jurien Bay during Sunday afternoon and evening. Seas to 2.5m. Swell 2.0m to 2.5m. Strong Wind Warning Jurien Bay to Cape Leeuwin S/SE winds 20/30 knots easing to below 25 knots by midnight Saturday. Seas to 2.5m. Swell to 3.5m. The next warning will be issued by 5:00 am WST Sunday. Please be aware Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
